He began his career in as a writer and editor at MacWorld, PC World and PC Magazine. He started his professional career in the IT department of Pamukbank. Until 2007, he developed core banking and credit card applications for banks on IBM mainframe systems using Cobol and PL/I languages. He took part in the adaptation of IBM's FSDM core banking system to the design of Pamukbank's core banking system. He worked as project manager and technical manager of many projects such as Pamukbank Digiturk TV Banking, Core Banking System Applications. He managed software development infrastructure platform (IBM VisualAge Generator) for more than 7 years. He was the CIO of Vaillant Group from 2007 to 2008. He started his career as IT Governance Department Manager in Halkbank AŞ. He created IT Risk Management Methodology as the first bank in Turkey, he led ITSM (IT Service Management) and CSI (Continual Service Improvement) projects that delivered comprehensive innovative transformations to implement global best practices in IT through service-oriented approach and IT process model. During his tenure as Director of the IT Continuity Management Department, he was responsible for Operational Resilience, IT Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, IT Capacity and Performance Management, Data Management, and GDPR. He subsequently served as a Principal Consultant at BT-Yon Consulting from 2024 to 2025.

In 2025, he immigrated to the US on an Exceptional Ability (EB) Visa, becoming the only person from Turkey to receive a visa in the technology field. He currently serves as Principal at LumaTech Advisors LLC in Maryland, USA.
